All you need to know about fishing in Assynt

Welcome to the Assynt Angling Information site – all the information you need for fishing in Assynt.

Thanks to everyone who completed the consultation survey for the proposed Protection Order for the Assynt Crofters' Trust and Lagg Fishery. You can still read about the proposal here. We are now working with ACT and Lagg to submit the application which will help improve and sustain fishing in the North Assynt area.

On this site you can:

See our new section on the Assynt Crofters Trust lochs: details of boats, permits and over 150 lochs and lochans in North Assynt.

Find Assynt Angling Group info and permits - for south, east and west Assynt.

The site is run by Adam Brown and a revamp in 2022 was very kindly supported by the Assynt Angling Group and the Assynt Development Trust. Further development has added more in depth information about the Assynt Crofters' Trust fishing in 2025, supported by the ACT.
