Loch an Aon Aite
If you want to really feel that sense of isolation, and to explore some rarely fished lochans, head in on the Clahtoll peat track at NC044270 for a good two and a half miles. Where the track peters out carry on heading east to find Loch an Aon Aite among a myriad of smaller lochans.
This is a full day out and depending how long you have, there are at least 20 lochans around and to the east of Aon Aite to explore. Don't spend too long at any one, but there are rumoured to be some very good fish about.

Aon Aite April 4th 2016
Early season fishing is usually sparse fare, but on a changeable day weather wise, there were a decent number of trout seen rising when flat calm - very gentle rises presumably sipping midge from the surface. Caught two in Aon Aite - one of them so thin he must have just been very hungry! - and another in a nearby puddle which was half a pound and much fitter. All on a bushy dry fly, so you can never tell...

No angling pressure here....
There is certainly no evidence that these small lochs and lochans are under any kind of angling pressure.
Stuffed to the gills with small, pretty, free rising trout. Aon Aite is the Invicta fan club central but trout in all the lochans were also enthusiasts of the Pearly Bibio... There are trout in some very small water bodies but the three larger unnamed lochans to the north east of Aon Aite also performed well - at times you could barely get a line out for a small trout (or two at times) attaching themselves to the fly. And all this in bright sun.
Aon Aite June
Cold wind and bright sun (again). Had a good afternoon wandering up and around here - lots of small trout in all the lochs I tried: Aon Aite, the long thin one just before you get there (lots of reeds/waterlilies restrict scope here), and the small ones to the north/north west of Aon Aite. Biggest was 3/4lb but mostly 3 to the pound. Couple came to dry fly but when the wind was up, muddlers on the point and bushy flies on the top dropper worked best.
Loch an Aon Aite
The first few lochs hold seriously small fish had 21 in all but the interesting lochs are at the end of the section near nan uidhean, tried the dry fly but nothing moving. Great loch that looks like a fish behind Pollan needs further inspection. Jets going loopy this morning, all part of the fun fishing up here cheers Graham ps Dognobbler and Le corn had 3 one of 1lb 4oz off Loch Dubh
Freezing day around Loch an Aon Aite
Had a cold afternoon today in the middle of all the lochans around Loch an Aon Aite : much more footprints of deers than of fishermen, here ! It seems that these lochs aren't that much fished. It needs around 75 minutes from the road to the biggest of these lochans, the one which looks like a devil's head's profile, east of Loch an Aon Aite. There, I took very small trouts on wet flies. I tried four other lochans (even the one "looking like a fish" from the June 4th comment), but had nothing. Poor fishing, today...
