Loch Na Claise
Tucked away in the dip of Clashmore, a small loch with mostly small, average trout but worth a few casts.
There is a boat available which makes the loch a much better prospect - especially under the cliff at the eastern edge and around the reed beds.
It can get very reedy, especially later in the season, making it difficult to fish from the bank in some places and conditions.
Please note that the boat on this loch is not an ACT boat and is available to those staying at the Clashmore Holiday Cottages - please enquire there about use.

Loch Na Claise - 11th June 2017
Fished here in overcast windy conditions and caught a lovely fish of about 1lb where the burn enters the loch in the north east corner, on a G&H sedge.
Loch na Claise
Windy and a bit rainy meant that boat fishing was a little tricky, especially having left the drogue at home... Nonetheless 6 fish between the two of us, with some very nice, fit and fat trout. The fish seem really healthy and had three hen fish bursting with eggs, all returned.
Fat Fish! Loch Na Claise 14/9
Had couple of hours in the evening on Loch na Claise when the rain finally stopped. It's getting increasingly reeded over which is a real shame as it is a lovely loch and has some good fish. Lots of fish rising, some top and tailing, though most looked small. Best trout was a pound and was very fat bodied indeed. Spooned it and it looked like it had been feeding on some kind of small fry...
May 31st 2010
Fished for a couple of hours in very bright sun from 5-7pm. Nothing doing - at all! Not a single rise, nor any takes. But the locals say there have been some good fish recently...
