Welcome to the Assynt Angling Information site – all the information you need for fishing in Assynt.

NEWS!! - Please  do our survey and have your say. The Assynt Crofters' Trust and Lagg Fishery are jointly in the process of seeking a Protection Order to protect the fishing and trout stocks in the North Assynt area.

  • PLEASE read about the proposal and have your say in the open public consultation here
  • You can also drop in to the ACT office on Thursday 14th August between 10am and 12 noon to find out more.

On this site you can:

See our new section on the Assynt Crofters Trust lochs: details of boats, permits and over 150 lochs and lochans in North Assynt.

Find Assynt Angling Group info and permits - for south, east and west Assynt.

The site is run by Adam Brown and a revamp in 2022 was very kindly supported by the Assynt Angling Group and the Assynt Development Trust. Further development has added more in depth information about the Assynt Crofters' Trust fishing in 2025, supported by the ACT.
