Loch an Leothaid

A large, rarely fished loch below the daramtic slopes of Quinag. We've had very few reports of fishing here over the years, so might well be worth a go. One local member reports lots of 8-10oz trout in spectaular scenery.

You can get there from the Ledd-Unapool road taking the path shown on the OS map just after Gleann Leireag, or the path a little further up toward Unapool which runs under Quinag all the way to Tumore by Loch Assynt. Alternatively, you can walk in from the othr end of the Nedd-Tumore path from nearby Loch Assynt Lodge (about an hour).

Please note: There is no longer a boat here.

Your feedback is important so please tell us:

  • Where you fished, when, what conditions were like.
  • What you caught, when and on what (be a little vague if you don't want to give it all away!)
  • Anything other anglers should be aware of - access, reeded up waters, difficulties etc.
