Loch Bad nan Aighean

Please note: This loch is no longer part of the Assynt Angling Group fishing and is not covered by any permit.

An accessible loch, you can follow the Uidh na Geadaig burn from the A837 to reach its eastern tip and then either work along its southern shore moving onto Loch a' Bharaille and Loch Cuilce, or head north up its eastern shore before going onto Loch Beannach. Mostly average sized but hard fighting trout and some better fish around.

Bit late on posting this - had a very pleasant day out on this loch - some fabulous views of mountains. Nothing big to write home about but caught 15 - 20 between two of us. Bright sunshine and nip in the wind didn't help. All caught on the surface - deer hair sedge, emergers and small muddlers doing thr trick.

Caught 6/5/10After a 20 min walk over the hills i found the boat in the corner of the loch by the burn outflow ! Had several drifts around the island and was rewarded with a dozen trout all around 8-10 ounces including a full house of three fish at once, hungry little trout in here !

Rowed over to the north shore where the burn comes in from loch a bharaille and walked up the burn and had a quick walk around it's south shore landing 2 wee brownies before heading back to the boat on bad nan aighean !

Took a last drift across the middle of the loch towards the boat mooring when, right in the middle of the loch, a sea trout of around a pound hammered into my kate mclaren and produced an acrobatic display before coming to the boat !

Very welcome surprise, definately be coming back to this one !
